De
Mark Knopfler podría decirse que desde el principio ha escrito canciones en
torno a una sola idea musical, basada en la tradición del folk rural
norteamericano, desde el country al blues. Con el tiempo, el guitarrista
escocés ha ido depurando su estilo hasta confundirlo con el de sus maestros
(de Chet Atkins a Waylon Jennings, la Carter Family y Roger Miller) en
discos que parecen robados de otra época y otro lugar. Knopfler se siente
cómodo, ajeno ya a las servidumbres comerciales de su época al frente de
Dire Straits, y transmite esa sensación placentera del que trabaja por
placer, muy especialmente en este All The Roadrunning, en el que la voz
cansada del ex líder de los Dire Straits combina perfectamente con la
garganta cristalina y el engañoso aspecto de fragilidad de esta reina sin
corona del country alternativo. |
